We are all well aware that poor mental health can be caused by many different situations in life but one aspect to help can be a simple task of de-cluttering rubbish from your home.
Reasons for this:
It Reduces Anxiety
Psychologists say cluttered spaces create mental chaos. Your brain feels overwhelmed, which can make you irritable. Even worse, clutter can trigger a shame spiral. Stress increases, and you feel embarrassed about your home.To break this cycle, start small. Begin de-cluttering rubbish like old papers or junk mail. Hang clothes back in the wardrobe. As you clear more space, your mind feels calmer and clearer.
It Can Improve Your Sleep.
Just because you close your eyes doesn’t mean your mind switches off. If clutter in your home stresses you out, winding down becomes harder. Start by de-cluttering rubbish in your bedroom. Remove work projects, fold clothes, and put laundry away. This helps your brain recognise that once you lie down, it’s time to rest and nothing else.
Problems Get Solved.
When you clear a space it equips you with a fresh perspective thus allowing us to focus and solve problems more easily.
You Can Trust Your Intuition Much More.
Think about it, if you have a massive pile of junk in a room you cannot see clearly across to the other side. Also the same goes for your brain the more clarity you have the decisions you need to make will become more definitive.
It Could Earn You Money.
We have all kept something for that ‘just in case’ moment, but realistically it never comes. Golden rule, if it hasn’t been used within the last 2 years, it’s unlikely that it ever will. Someone somewhere might! Sell these items, raise some money, this could in the long run ease pressures on you. Whatever it takes, whether you do it all in one go or bit by bit we can help, along with these simple tips.
At The Rubbish Removers we will work sensitively and ethically according to your needs, the first step is admitting it needs doing.Take a look at our why use us page and then contact us where we will willingly give you a free quote and talk through your needs.
DING, DONG merrily on high, yes it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and that time of year again. Where we clear out the old ready for the new and need a rubbish collection. But what is it about Christmas? For some reason everyone seems to want that new sofa, carpet or even the whole kitchen. Is it me being too cynical? Don’t get me wrong I love Christmas and yes will be feeding the 5000 once again. But I definitely would not want one of my guests spilling food or wine after numerous games on my new items. If however you are one of those people who want everything to be just perfect, then who am I to judge and I genuinely wish you a wonderful day.
Our Opening Hours For This Christmas
However, before that day arrives you will need to get rid of the old and any rubbish building up. So I just wanted to let you know we are still open 7 days a week all year round except for:

If you haven’t seen the recent news, you may not know that local authorities now plan to move to monthly bin collections. This change is already causing outrage among residents who struggle with smelly, overflowing bins. Flies and rodents are also attracted to the uncollected rubbish.
Councils say they want to increase recycling levels, and they face financial pressures. Because of this, they aim to reduce how often they collect general waste.
Under European Union targets, the UK must recycle at least half of all household waste by 2020. The current rate is 43 per cent.
However, MPs warn that three- or four-weekly bin collections pose a health risk. They argue that EU green targets are simply being used as an excuse for cuts.
Tory MP Andrew Bridgen said councils can achieve strong recycling rates with fortnightly collections. Therefore, he believes monthly collections cannot be justified. He also warned that anything less than a two-week cycle attracts flies, pests, and unpleasant smells.
“People need to lobby their council and tell them they do not want this.”
The situation has become so desperate in some areas where monthly bin collections are now in place, that residents have resorted to burning waste or taking it to work.
But why has this occurred in the first place?
Britain does not have the infrastructure to recycle its own plastic waste, so it sends much of it abroad. For 28 years, Britain relied on China to take its unwanted plastics. However, in November 2017, China said “enough” and closed its doors to contaminated plastic. As a result, the waste shifted to nearby countries such as Vietnam, South Korea, and Thailand.
These countries do not have the capacity to handle the huge volume of plastic China once accepted. Therefore, the waste is now piling up. A study in Science Advances reports that between now and 2030, 111 million metric tons of plastic—bags, bottles, straws, and more—will have nowhere to go. That amount equals every person on Earth adding a quarter of their body weight in single-use plastic to one massive, abandoned pile of rubbish.
But just to confuse the situation even more for householders the latest headlines in the Telegraph are: Councils will tell households to bin plastic as recycling goes into reverse.
The first council in the UK has said it is planning to tell residents to stop recycling mixed plastic, sparking fears that years of progress on reducing black bag waste is on the verge of going into reverse. Read on
I don’t know about you but as a country we seem to being going backwards and just what have we been doing with all the money the waste has generated in the last 28 years?

Fly-tipping, like in this picture, now happens far too often in country lanes and back alleys. We recently posted a blog about this problem, yet the number of cases keeps rising. Later in this story, you will see CCTV showing what some businesses choose to do instead of following the law. But why does this keep happening?
Many people think rubbish shouldn’t cost much to remove, so they choose the cheapest option. However, few understand the huge costs involved in recycling or managing landfill sites. These processes cost billions and take massive amounts of time, and someone has to pay for them.
Social media is full of posts about protecting the environment. However, when it comes to paying for waste removal, many forget their morals. Some assume, “If I don’t see it, it won’t harm me.”
But be careful—someone is always watching. CCTV now covers almost every corner.
The Manchester Evening News recently showed exactly what happens when you get caught.
Moment CCTV catches fly-tipper dumping van load of rubbish on street
Keenan, 23, of Bosworth Street, Manchester, denied taking part in the fly-tipping when council officers interviewed him under caution. However, CCTV proved he had turned fly-tipping into a business, and he avoided jail by a narrow margin.
The footage shows Keenan collecting waste from a business owner’s home. This same rubbish was later dumped on Sand Street. The business owner confirmed she paid Keenan £120 to remove the waste.
At Manchester Magistrates’ Court, the judge gave him a 20-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. He also received 200 hours of community service and was ordered to pay £2,284 in court costs. Watch the video here.
Remember, you get what you pay for.
We cannot always guarantee the lowest price, but we can guarantee we will never fly-tip your waste. Visit our “Why Use Us” page to learn more and to view our waste carrier’s licence.
Fly tipping, or illegally dumping waste, really goes against everything we stand for in our industry. However, government policies and budget cuts have increased landfill taxes and reduced free tipping options for small businesses and the public. Thus, some people who never saw themselves as criminals now take illegal and risky shortcuts just to get by. This growing problem worries us all.
Undeniably, while driving across the North West from one clearance to the next, we get to enjoy breathtaking scenery. The Peak District, Lake District, and Yorkshire Dales all lie just a short drive from our Manchester base. Subsequently let’s not forget the stunning beaches along the North West coast. It’s a beautiful area to work in, and we never take it for granted.
Unfortunately, the blissful, secluded nature of some of the north Wests most photogenic landscapes are what make them so attractive to the criminal fly tippers. Who will offload your waste into a lay by.
Fly Tipping Facts: What You Need to Know to Avoid Fines and Stay Responsible
Overall, fly tipping is illegal, and it’s spreading far beyond the usual image of cowboy builders dumping waste in fields. Did you know that contaminating recycling bins at your local center counts as fly tipping? Also, if you hire an unlicensed rubbish removal company and your waste gets dumped illegally, you’re responsible and could face a hefty fine. It’s important to stay informed and act responsibly to avoid trouble.
More and more, local and national campaigns focus on householders’ Duty of Care. They must check for a valid Waste Carrier Licence and a Waste Transfer Notice. These campaigns want residents to think twice before using ‘the man with a van’ who might work outside the system. Such drivers often can’t prove where your waste ends up. Recently, these campaigns have gained attention and made progress locally. But how easy is it for the public to follow their Duty of Care? Can they easily confirm their rubbish collectors are legitimate and won’t cause legal trouble? We tested this question during our fly-tipping research in Greater Manchester. Read on to what happened to Dave and Maxine Platt.
