Typical Load Sizes and Pricing Guide
We offer transparent pricing based on volume and weight. You only pay for the space you fill, unlike a skip where you pay for fresh air.
- Single Item: Prices start from £80 plus VAT. so ideal for a standalone bulky item like a two-seater sofa, armchair, or large recliner. This is also cheaper and faster than a council bulky collection.
- Quarter Van Load: Roughly 2-3 cubic yards. Perfect for clearing a full three-piece suite or a large corner sofa.
- Half Van Load: Roughly 6 cubic yards. Also comparable capacity to a standard builders skip. Ideal for a lounge clear-out alongside other household junk.
- Full Van Load: 12-14 cubic yards with an 800kg payload. Therefore suitable for full house clearances or multiple large furniture items.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to get the item to the ground floor? A: Absolutely not. Our trained two man team collects from upstairs bedrooms, basements, or tight lounges. We also do all the heavy lifting safely so you do not have to lift a finger.
Q: Do you take large or awkward items like corner sofas? A: Yes, we take all sizes of furniture. Our teams have the tools to dismantle oversized corner sofas and large sofa beds to get them safely out of your property.
Q: Is your disposal legal? A: Yes, we are fully licensed waste carriers, licence CBDU409710. Every collection comes with a proper Waste Transfer Note, and your furniture is also taken to a licensed transfer station for ethical recycling.
Q: Does Calderdale Council collect from inside my house? A: No, council collections are strictly curb side only. This is therefore incredibly difficult for residents living in the tall stone terraces of Halifax, as dragging a heavy sofa outside is unsafe without help.
Q: Can I take my own sofa to the local tip? A: You can, but you will need a suitable vehicle. Attempting to fit a large sofa into a family car often causes damage. Also hiring a van requires sorting out van permits at the tip, which is a slow and frustrating process.
