Easy to use service from booking to collection of the mattresses. Quick responses when booking, great communication throughout. On the day, prompt collection by two very pleasant lads ( despite the sudden hailstorm!!) An excellent, efficient service at a very fair price. Thanks a lot.

Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
Single Item
Prices start from £80 + VAT, making this option ideal for a standalone bulky item such as a fridge, sofa or heavy wardrobe. It is often cheaper and faster than arranging council collections.
Quarter Van Load
This option holds around 20–30 bin bags or 2–3 cubic yards of waste. It is perfect for clearing a box room, garage corner or a small pile of household junk.
Half Van Load
This size is roughly 6 cubic yards or around 50–60 bin bags. It is comparable to a standard 6-yard skip, but without permit fees or the inconvenience of blocking a steep driveway.
Full Van Load
Our largest option provides 12–14 cubic yards of space or 100+ bin bags. It is ideal for large domestic clear-outs or removing multiple heavy furniture items in one visit.

Typical Jobs in Halifax
Sofa Removal in Shibden:
We safely cleared a heavy recliner sofa from a tall over-and-under property using our efficient Wait & Load service. This avoided the need to place a skip on a steep gradient, keeping access safe and disruption-free.
Basement Clearance Near the Valley Floor:
We quickly removed flood-damaged bulky items from a cellar, helping the homeowner avoid the difficult and risky task of carrying wet furniture up narrow stone steps. The clearance was completed safely and efficiently.
Appliance Disposal in Sowerby Bridge:
We carefully removed a broken American fridge-freezer from a valley-side apartment. We protected wooden floors throughout the process, ensuring no damage was caused during removal.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to get the item to the ground floor?
No. Our professional two-man team collects from upstairs bedrooms, tricky basements and even high-rise apartments. We handle all the heavy lifting safely so you don’t need to lift a finger from start to finish.
Do you take large or awkward items like American fridges and corner sofas?
Yes, absolutely. We have the specialist vehicles and trained team needed to safely dismantle and remove oversized, bulky items from almost any property.
Is your disposal legal?
Yes. We are an Upper Tier Waste Carrier (Licence CBDU409710). We fully comply with Duty of Care regulations and always provide a Waste Transfer Note as proof of responsible disposal.
Does Calderdale Council collect from inside my house?
No. Instead, Calderdale Council operates a strict kerbside-only service. Residents in Halifax’s tall stone terraces or homes on steep unadopted tracks often find it difficult to move heavy items outside.
I live on a narrow, steep street in Halifax, can you still help?
Yes, certainly. We regularly work on the steep hills of Halifax where access is tight and parking is limited. Our compact, mobile vans are ideal for quick loading, especially where large skip lorries would struggle with traction or space.
Can I take my own sofa or fridge to the Milner Royd tip?
Yes, you can. However, it can be challenging, especially as the site is located down a steep hill that may be difficult in poor weather. You will need to handle all the heavy lifting yourself and may also face van permit checks if hiring a vehicle.
Save your back and your walls!
