Why Choose Us for Sofa Removal in Leeds?
Moving a large sofa through the unique housing stock of Leeds requires experience and furthermore, care. We understand that many properties, from the Victorian terraces in Morley to the modern apartments near the Royal Armouries, have access challenges that make DIY removal difficult.
- We Collect From Inside: Leeds City Council collections are strictly curbside, meaning you have to drag your heavy sofa out to the street yourself. We collect from your lounge, spare room or even third floor apartment, doing all the heavy lifting for you.
- Protection & Care: Our teams are trained to manoeuvre tight corners and narrow hallways without scratching your walls or damaging paintwork. We take care of floors and lifts, ensuring the property is left exactly as we found it.
- Speed: We offer a same day service where available, which is perfect if your new sofa is being delivered today and you need the old one gone immediately!
- All Styles Taken: Whether it is a bulky corner sectional, a heavy recliner or a large American style unit, we have the vehicles and manpower to handle it.

What We Take
We remove all types of seating and upholstered furniture, ensuring they are recycled or repurposed wherever possible:
- Corner Sofas and Modular Sectionals
- Recliners (Manual and Electric)
- Chesterfield Sofas & 3 Piece Suites
- Sofa Beds (Heavy mechanisms included)
- Armchairs & Footstools
- Ottomans and also Pouffes
Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
We operate a transparent pricing model based on volume, meaning you only pay for the space your items fill in our van. This is often far cheaper than hiring a skip, where you pay for fresh air if you don’t fill it.
- Single Item: Prices start from £80 +VAT. Ideal for a standalone bulky item like a 3-seater sofa or a couple of armchairs. This is cheaper and also faster than hiring a skip and saves you the physical effort.
- Quarter Van Load: Roughly 2-3 cubic yards. Perfect if you are clearing a full 3-piece suite and also a coffee table.
- Half Van Load: Roughly 6 cubic yards. Comparable to a builders’ skip, ideal if you are clearing a living room and a dining area simultaneously.
- Full Van Load: 12-14 cubic yards. Suitable for full house clearances or large office reception clear-outs.
Get a Firm Price: Send a photo of your sofa to 07802 860 731 for a fast, fixed quote.
Typical Jobs in Leeds
We work daily across the city, handling the specific logistical challenges Leeds presents:
– Sofa Bed Removal in Headingley: We cleared a heavy sofa bed from a student HMO. Using a “Wait & Load” approach, we then avoided the need for a parking permit on the busy streets near the Otley Run route.
– Suite Disposal in Leeds City Centre: A customer in a high rise loft near the Corn Exchange needed a large corner sofa removing. Our team utilised the service lift and also protected the communal corridors, ensuring compliance with the building management’s rules.
– Recliner Removal in Harehills: We successfully removed two electric recliners from a back to back terrace. The tight front door required us to dismantle the backs of the chairs first, which we did quickly on site before loading.
How It Works
- Get a Quote: First, give us a call on 0113 450 8477 or WhatsApp a photo of your sofa to 07802 860 731.
- We Arrive: Our uniformed, two-man team arrives in a specific time slot. We will give you a quick call when we are around 30 minutes away.
- We Remove: Then we carefully move the furniture from your home to our vehicle. If it is a tight squeeze, we have the tools to remove feet or dismantle sections.
- Recycling: You receive a Waste Transfer Note immediately. We transport the items to a licensed transfer station where proudly most of the material is diverted from landfill.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to get the item to the ground floor?
A: No. Our professional team will collect your sofa from anywhere in the house, including upstairs bedrooms, basements or upper-floor apartments. We handle all the heavy lifting safely.
Q: Do you take large/awkward items like corner sofas?
A: Yes. We have large Luton vans and the necessary tools to dismantle modular sofas or remove legs to get them through doorways. We handle large bulky waste collection daily so our teams are experienced.
Q: Is your disposal legal?
A: Absolutely. We are fully licensed (CBDU409710) and committed to ethical disposal. We provide a digital Waste Transfer Note for every job, proving your waste has been handled in accordance with the law.
Q: Does Leeds City Council collect from inside my house?
A: No. The Council’s bulky collection service is strictly curbside. This can be extremely difficult for residents in Leeds’ back to back terraces or city centre apartments where getting items to the street is physically challenging or prohibited.
Q: I live on a narrow street in Harehills, can you still help?
A: Yes. We know that parking in areas like Harehills and Headingley can be very tight. Our vans are more mobile than large skip lorries and we can also perform a “Wait & Load” service to clear your items without blocking the road for long periods.
Q: Can I take my own sofa to the Kirkstall recycling centre?
A: You can but be aware that the Kirkstall tip (HWRC) is notoriously busy and now requires you to book a slot in advance. If you plan to use a van or trailer, you may also need a permit. Using our service saves you the queue, the booking hassle and the heavy lifting!
