Why Choose Us for Junk Furniture Pick Up in Formby?

We collect from inside your property, so you never need to drag heavy items outside. In contrast to council kerbside rules, our two-man team will collect directly from your lounge, spare bedroom or loft. We navigate tight corners and narrow high-security gates with ease.

Our staff take great care in your home, using protective materials to safeguard flooring, walls and door frames. We offer emergency same-day options if you contact us early. We remove all types of bulky furniture, from corner sofas to solid oak wardrobes and finally we sweep the room clean, leaving it ready to use straight away.

The Rubbish Removers vs. Sefton Council Bulk Collection

Feature	The Rubbish Removers	Sefton Council
Collection Point	Any Room / Upstairs	Kerbside Only (You drag it out)
Speed	Same Day / 24 Hours	Booking Required / Variable Availability
Heavy Lifting	2-Man Team Included	Zero Assistance
Item Limits	We take Multiple Items	Strict Item Limits

Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide

You only pay for the exact space you fill in our vans. We explain our prices plainly upfront with absolutely no hidden extras.

Single Item

Prices start from £80 + VAT. This is ideal for a standalone bulky item such as a large sofa or heavy wardrobe. It is also significantly faster than the Council Bulky Waste Collection service.

Quarter Van Load

A quarter van load is roughly 2–3 cubic yards. This makes it great for clearing out a box room of old furniture or emptying an under-stairs cupboard.

Half Van Load

In comparison, a half van load provides around 6 cubic yards of space. For example, this is comparable to a standard builders skip, but without permit fees or the risk of a heavy metal skip damaging block paving.

Full Van Load

Finally, a full van load offers 12–14 cubic yards of capacity. It is perfect for full house clearances or large estate upgrades.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to get the item to the ground floor?

No. Our professional two-man team collects from upstairs bedrooms, basements and loft spaces, doing all the heavy lifting safely for you.

Do you take large or awkward items like corner sofas?

Yes. We have the specialist vehicles and equipment needed to safely handle even the largest items of furniture.

Is your disposal legal?

Yes. We are an Upper Tier Waste Carrier (licence CBDU409710). We ensure full legal compliance at licensed transfer stations and provide a Waste Transfer Note with every job.

Does Sefton Council collect from inside my house?

No. However, Sefton Council operates a strict kerbside-only policy, meaning you must move heavy items outside yourself, which can be difficult and may risk property damage.

I live on a property with a narrow gated driveway in Formby, can you still help?

Yes. Many Formby homes have high-security gates that are too narrow for standard skip wagons. Our compact, specialist vans are ideal for accessing these properties without causing disruption.

Can I take my own furniture to the Altcar Road Tip?

You can try. However, Altcar Road is a small site with strict rules regarding trade waste and even local residents can face restrictions. Our collection service is often the simpler and faster option.
