Why Choose Us for Bulky Waste Collection in Bolton?
We Collect From Inside: Unlike Bolton Council, which strictly requires curb side presentation, we are happy to come inside and do the lifting. We also clear items straight from your lounge, kitchen, or upstairs bedroom in Farnworth or Heaton.
Protection & Care: Floors, walls, and doorways are looked after. Our experienced, uniformed teams take care when manoeuvring bulky items around tight corners in red brick Victorian rows, ensuring zero damage to your property.
Speed: Emergency same day options are available if you call early. Therefore if your new three piece suite or American fridge freezer is arriving today, we can get the old ones out of the way immediately. Leaving the space ready for new arrivals.
All Styles Taken: We handle multiple heavy items in one go, from heavy corner sectionals and reclining chairs to solid oak wardrobes and heavy bed frames, with full dismantling included where necessary.
The Rubbish Removers vs. Bolton Council Bulk Collection
| Feature | The Rubbish Removers | Bolton Council |
|---|---|---|
| Collection Point | Any Room / Upstairs | Curbside Only (You drag it out) |
| Speed | Same Day / 24 Hours | Subject to Availability |
| Heavy Lifting | 2-Man Team Included | Zero Assistance |
| Item Limits | We take Multiple Items | Strict 5 Item Limit (£42) |
What We Take (Bulky Waste Collection)
Sofas & Seating: Sectionals, recliners, Chesterfield sofas, and also sofa beds.
Beds & Mattresses: Memory foam mattresses, king-size beds, heavy frames, and headboards.
Large Appliances: American style fridge freezers, chest freezers, washing machines, and under-counter units.
General Furniture: Solid wood wardrobes, dining tables, sideboards, and also heavy bookcases.
Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
SINGLE ITEM: Prices start from £80+vat. Ideal for a standalone bulky item like an old fridge, sofa, or wardrobe. Also cheaper and much faster than hitting the strict item limits of a council collection.
QUARTER VAN LOAD: Roughly 20-30 bin bags or 2-3 cubic yards. Therefore great for clearing out a box room, taking away an old bathroom suite, or disposing of a few pieces of heavy living room furniture.
HALF VAN LOAD: Roughly 6 cubic yards or 50-60 bin bags. Comparable capacity to a standard builders’ skip. Also perfect for a large master bedroom clear out or a heavy garage clearance, with no permit fees required.
FULL VAN LOAD: 12-14 cubic yards, 100+ bin bags, or an 800kg payload. A large capacity equivalent to roughly two standard 8-yard skips. Therefore ideal for full house clearances or major renovation debris.
Get a Firm Price: Send a photo of your pile to 07802 860 731. You only pay for the exact volume you use, unlike a skip where you pay for fresh air.
Typical Jobs in Bolton
Garage Clearance in Horwich:
We cleared heavy shelving and years of accumulated junk via a rapid wait and load service to avoid the steep gradients that make skip wagons dangerous.
Renovation Debris in Farnworth:
We removed heavy plaster, wood, and old bathroom fixtures from a red brick terrace, therefore saving the customer from expensive on road skip permits and the risk of fly-tipping in their neighbourhood.
Garden Waste in Heaton:
We cleared a dismantled shed and heavy green waste from a sprawling post war semi detached estate, additionally making sure the patio was swept totally clean before we left.
Furniture Removal in Blackrod:
Our local crews safely navigated narrow, cobbled access routes to remove a heavy corner sofa and double mattress straight from a third floor bedroom.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Q: Do I need to get the item to the ground floor? A: Not at all. Our uniformed 2 man team is happy to come inside and collect from upstairs bedrooms, basements, or apartments. We also do all the heavy lifting safely and carefully so you do not have to lift a finger.
3. Q: Is your disposal legal? A: Yes. We are fully licensed by the Environment Agency (CBDU409710) and provide a digital Waste Transfer Note upon completion, therefore proving your waste has been disposed of legally and diverted from landfill.
4. Q: Does Bolton Council collect from inside my house? A: No. Bolton Council is strict on their curb side only policy. You must drag the items out yourself, which is physically difficult and often impractical if you live in a terraced property in Farnworth without a front garden. We come right into your lounge to remove the items.
5. Q: I live on a narrow, cobbled street in Horwich, can you still help? A: Yes. We know that parking and access in areas like Horwich or Blackrod can be incredibly tight, with steep gradients making skips impossible. Our specialised vans are also highly mobile and our local crews know the area well, ensuring a smooth collection without blocking the road.
6. Q: Can I take my own heavy furniture to the Raikes Lane recycling centre? A: You can, but you need to be prepared for notoriously long queues that back up onto the main road on weekends. Additionally, if you try to borrow or hire a van to transport bulky items, you will face strict council tip monitors checking for trade waste and van permits.
