Why Choose Us for Bulky Waste Collection in Wigan?
- We Collect From Inside: Unlike the local council, we come straight into your lounge, kitchen, or upstairs bedroom to do all the heavy lifting. You do not need to struggle with moving awkward or oversized items yourself.
- Protection & Care: In addition, we take care when moving bulky items and use protection to look after flooring, walls, and doorways. This is especially important when navigating tight terraced doors in areas like Ince.
- Speed & Convenience: Furthermore, if you contact us early, we offer same-day service options. We also provide a specific arrival window and give you a quick call when we are on the way, so you are not left waiting around.
- All Styles Taken: Finally, from massive corner sectionals to heavy American fridge freezers and solid oak wardrobes, we have the right vehicles and manual handling training to take it all.

What We Take (Bulky Waste Collection)
Heavy Furniture: Sofas, corner sectionals, recliners, wardrobes, and dining tables.
Bedroom Clearances: Mattresses including memory foam, king-size bed frames, and headboards.
White Goods: American style fridges, chest freezers, washing machines, and cookers.
General Household Junk: Black bags, old carpets, loft clutter, and bulky DIY offcuts.
Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
- Single Item: Prices start from £80+vat. Therefore ideal for a standalone bulky item like a fridge, heavy sofa, or solid wood wardrobe.
- Quarter Van Load: Roughly 20-30 bin bags or 2-3 cubic yards. So perfect for clearing out an under-stairs cupboard, a box room, or the remnants of a small bathroom refit.
- Half Van Load: Roughly 6 cubic yards or 50-60 bin bags. Also comparable capacity to a standard 6-yard builders’ skip, ideal for a large master bedroom clear-out or a full kitchen strip-out.
- Full Van Load: 12-14 cubic yards or 100+ bin bags (800kg payload). Equivalent to two standard 8-yard skips. Therefore suitable for full house clearances or massive domestic updates.
Get a Firm Price: Send a photo of your items to 07802 860 731 for an instant, free quote. Furthermore you only pay for the exact volume you fill, completely avoiding the flat-rate costs of skip hire.
Typical Jobs in Wigan
Bulky Furniture Removal in Ince:
For example, we cleared heavy sofas and old wardrobes directly from the front room of a classic back-to-back terrace, avoiding the need for a skip permit on the tightly packed road. The customer was able to complete a full clearance without disruption or delays.
Kitchen Appliance Disposal in Standish:
In particular, we removed a heavy American fridge freezer and old worktops from a semi-rural property. We completed the job on the same day to beat the slow council collection routes.
DIY Renovation Clearance in Leigh:
Meanwhile, our two-man team cleared bulky bathroom suites and heavy tiles using our wait-and-load service. This ensured the customer bypassed the strict rubble limits at the local tip.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to move anything outside before you arrive?
A: No, not at all. We collect from inside your property, including upstairs rooms if required. This means you can leave everything exactly where it is.
Q: What happens to my bulky waste after collection?
A: Firstly, we load it safely into our vehicles. Then, it is taken to an authorised facility where items are sorted for reuse, recycling, or responsible disposal. We aim to recycle as much as possible and divert waste from landfill.
Q: Do you dismantle furniture before removal?
A: Yes, where needed. We can dismantle large items like wardrobes, bed frames, and sectional sofas to safely remove them from tight spaces. This is especially useful in older Wigan terraces with narrow staircases.
Q: Can I take my own sofa or fridge to the Kirkless or Slag Lane Recycling Centre?
A: You can, but it is not always practical. Wigan Council requires strict permits for vans at their tips. Kirkless is notoriously busy and Slag Lane has restricted access hours. Hiring us saves you fuel, heavy lifting, and frustrating queues.
Q: Does Wigan Council collect from inside my house?
A: No, they do not. The council service is strictly curbside only. Because of this, residents in Wigan’s traditional terraced rows often struggle to get heavy furniture onto the pavement without help.
