Had very heavy sofa to scrap, immediate quote given over the phone with rough collection time the following day. Mike and his helper phoned to say they would arrive 40 minutes later and were bang on time, efficient and excellent service. We have no problems recommending this company, first class from start to finish.

From making first contact with The Rubbish Removers to them taking what I needed removing and finished the job, was first class service. No hidden charges, no issues with me living in a tower block, they simply took the job on and did so with excellence from start to finish. Cannot praise them enough and would highly recommend others who are looking for a company who deals with waste removals.

Why Choose Us for Junk Removal in Todmorden?
We Collect From Inside:
Unlike Calderdale Council’s curbside only service, we come directly into your lounge, kitchen, or bedroom to collect unwanted items. You do not need to struggle with dragging bulky furniture outside or doing any heavy lifting yourself. Our professional two-man teams are happy to carry everything safely from inside your property, making the entire process simple and stress-free.
Protection & Care:
Moving bulky junk from quirky period properties requires skill and attention to detail. Because of this, we use protection where needed to help safeguard your flooring, walls, and narrow doorways while we work. This means you can feel confident your home is treated with care throughout the collection.
Speed:
We offer a same-day service if you call early, which is ideal when new furniture is arriving later that day. Meanwhile, our convenient AM or PM slots include a quick call ahead, so you are never left waiting around unnecessarily.
All Styles Taken:
Whether you need to remove a heavy corner sofa, mattress, or large American fridge, we can help. We handle all types of bulky waste and even dismantle bed frames or garden structures as part of our comprehensive service.

Typical Jobs in Todmorden
- House Clearance in the Valley: We completed a full property clearance involving books, quirky furniture, and general household junk. Most importantly, we achieved a high landfill diversion rate, helping to reduce environmental impact wherever possible.
- Cottage Clearance near the A646: For example, we cleared heavy stone and old furniture using our Man and Van Clearance service to avoid blocking the busy valley road with a skip. The customer received a faster and far less disruptive solution.
- Appliance Disposal near Eastwood: Finally, we safely removed an old washing machine directly from the customer’s kitchen. This meant they avoided the inconvenience and stress of transporting it to the local recycling centre themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to move items outside before collection? A: No, there is no need to drag heavy furniture outdoors. Instead, our experienced two-man team comes inside and removes items from wherever they are located, making the process far easier and stress-free.
Q: How much does junk removal cost? A: The price depends on the type, size, and amount of waste being removed. To make things easier, you can call us, fill in our contact form, or WhatsApp a photo of the junk for a quick quotation.
Q: Is your disposal legal? A: Yes, we are an Environment Agency Registered carrier (Licence CBDU409710). We provide a Waste Transfer Note with every job, guaranteeing your junk is disposed of legally and ethically.
Q: Does Calderdale Council collect from inside my house? A: No, Calderdale Council is very strict on providing a curbside-only collection. This is therefore extremely difficult for residents living in tall stone terraces or on the steep, unadopted tracks around Todmorden.
Q: I live on a narrow street in Todmorden, can you still help? A: Yes, we certainly can. We know that parking along the A646 and the steep valley sides is exceptionally tight, however, our vans are far more mobile than heavy skip lorries.
Q: Can I take my own junk to the Eastwood tip? A: You can, but the Eastwood site is a tiny strip situated between the road and the canal. It can only accommodate a few cars at a time, making it a frustrating trip for large loads of bulky waste.
