Why Choose Us for Mattress Removal in Tameside?
Moving a heavy memory foam mattress or awkward bed frame down a narrow staircase is difficult and furthermore, dangerous. We make the process effortless.
We Collect From Inside
Unlike Tameside Council’s bulky collection service, which is strictly curbside, we go one step further. Instead of dragging your heavy items out to the street, our team comes directly into the master bedroom, box room or attic to collect your items exactly where they stand.
Protection & Care
Many properties in Ashton and Hyde are traditional red-brick terraces with tight staircases. Our teams are specially trained to manoeuvre bulky items carefully, protecting your paintwork, banisters and also carpets from any potential damage.
Same-Day Service Available
In addition, if your new bed is being delivered today, you cannot afford to wait weeks for a collection slot. Fortunately, we often provide same-day or next-day service, freeing up space immediately so you can enjoy your new furniture without delay.
All Bed Types Taken
Whether it is a heavy Super King, a cumbersome Ottoman storage base or a bunk bed frame, we have the tools and expertise to dismantle and remove it efficiently, making the process completely hassle-free.

What we take – We handle all components of your bed set, ensuring responsible recycling at authorised facilities.
- Mattresses: Memory foam, pocket sprung, orthopaedic, latex and also hybrids.
- Sizes: Single, Double, King, Super King as well as Emperor.
- Bed Frames: Wooden slats, metal frames, divan bases and Ottoman storage beds (we dismantle them for you).
- Accessories: Headboards, footboards and also sofa beds.
Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
We operate a transparent pricing model based on volume. You only pay for the space your items fill in our van, not for “fresh air” as you would with a skip.
Single Item Load
Prices start from £80 + VAT. This option is perfect for a standalone double mattress or a single bed frame. It is often cheaper and much faster than organising a skip or risking a fine with an unlicensed “man and van.”
Quarter Van Load
Offers roughly 20–30 bin bags of space. It’s ideal if you are clearing out a spare bedroom, including the bed, bedside tables and also an old chest of drawers.
Half Van Load
Comparable to a builder’s skip. This is perfect for a full bedroom renovation where you need to dispose of carpets, wardrobes and the complete bed set.
Full Van Load
For larger projects, our full van load can take everything in one trip, including multiple bedrooms’ furniture, mattresses, wardrobes as well as bulky items. It saves time and multiple journeys, making it the most convenient option for major clear-outs.

Typical Jobs in Tameside
Bed Clearance in Mossley
– For example, we removed a Super King mattress as well as the heavy oak frame from a stone cottage on a steep hill. To ensure safety, our team parked nearby and then carried the items down the steps, thus saving the customer from navigating the dangerous gradient.
Terrace Clearance in Ashton-under-Lyne
– Similarly, a customer needed a divan base removed from a tight terraced property. We dismantled the base in the room, allowing us to navigate the narrow staircase without scratching the freshly painted walls.
Apartment Collection in Stalybridge
– In addition, we performed a “Wait & Load” service for a third-floor apartment resident. Because we are a licensed carrier, we could park legally and then remove the mattress via the lift, avoiding the hassle of arranging a permit for a skip.
How It Works
We have refined our process to be as simple and as stress-free as possible for Tameside residents.
1. Get a Quote
First, give us a call on 0161 339 7938 or you can also WhatsApp a photo of your mattress to 07802 860 731. This way, we can provide you with a free price upfront, so there are no surprises.
2. We Arrive
Next, our uniformed two-man team arrives within your chosen time slot. We give you a quick call 30 minutes beforehand, ensuring you are not left waiting around.
3. We Remove
Then, we carefully carry the mattress and frame out of your property. If dismantling is required, we handle it immediately with our own tools, making the process completely hassle-free.
4. Recycling
You’ll then receive a Waste Transfer Note on the spot. Your old bed is transported to a licensed recycling centre, where up to 100% of the materials are diverted from landfill.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to get the mattress to the ground floor?
No. Our professional two-man teams are insured to enter your property and collect items from any room, including lofts, basements and also upstairs bedrooms. We do all the heavy lifting so you don’t have to.
Do you take large or awkward items like Emperor mattresses?
Yes. Our vans are large, custom-built tippers capable of holding significant volume. We can handle large American-style mattresses as well as heavy adjustable beds with ease.
Is your disposal legal?
Absolutely. We hold an Upper Tier Waste Carrier Licence (CBDU409710) and are also members of the Trading Standards “Buy With Confidence” scheme. You receive a full digital waste audit trail for complete peace of mind.
Does Tameside Council collect from inside my house?
No. Unlike council collections, which are strictly curbside, dragging a mattress to the street can be physically impossible and dangerous in areas like Mossley or Stalybridge, where properties are accessed via steep steps or narrow paths. Thankfully, we solve this by collecting from the room of your choice.
I live on a narrow street in Ashton, can you still help?
Yes. Many streets in Ashton and Hyde are single-track due to parked cars. Our vans are more mobile than skip lorries and can navigate tight terraced grids safely. Using our “Wait & Load” service, we clear your items without blocking the road for long periods.
Save your back and your walls!
