Why Choose Us for Mattress Removal in Salford?
Removing a bulky mattress in Salford often presents unique logistical challenges. From the strict parking enforcement as well as height barriers at MediaCityUK to the narrow staircases of Victorian terraces in Duchy, a DIY approach is rarely straightforward.
We Collect From Inside
Unlike the local council service, which requires you to drag heavy items to the curb, we collect directly from your bedroom. This is especially useful for high-rise apartments, where getting a king-size mattress to the ground floor is a two-person job.
Protection & Care
Our teams are trained to navigate tight corners and also service lifts without damaging your property. Walls, floors and door frames are protected while we move awkward bed frames or heavy pocket-sprung mattresses.
Same-Day Service Available
If your new bed is being delivered today, you cannot afford to wait weeks for a collection slot. We act as an emergency waste service, often providing same-day collection to free up space immediately.
Bed Frame Removal Included
We don’t just take the mattress. We also dismantle and remove heavy wooden or metal bed frames, divan bases and headboards in the same visit, saving you a trip to the tip.
The Rubbish Removers vs. Salford City Council Bulk Collection
Many residents find that council collections are restricted by rigid rules regarding location and load types. Here is how we compare:
| Feature | The Rubbish Removers | Salford City Council |
|---|---|---|
| Collection Point | Any Room / Upstairs | Curbside Only (You drag it out) |
| Speed | Same Day / 24 Hours | Booking Required / Variable Availability |
| Heavy Lifting | 2-Man Team Included | Zero Assistance |
| Item Rules | We take Mattresses & Frames | Strict “Contaminated Load” rules |
What We Take
We handle all types of beds and bedding materials, ensuring they are diverted from landfill and also recycled wherever possible:
- Memory foam & pocket-sprung mattresses
- King, Queen, Double, and Single sizes
- Heavy wooden or metal bed frames
- Divan bases and drawer units
- Fabric or leather headboards
- Futons and also sofa beds
Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
We operate a transparent pricing model based on the volume as well as the weight of the items we remove. Unlike hiring a skip, you never pay for empty space.
- Single Item: For example, perfect for a standalone mattress or a bed frame, this option is cheaper and also faster than most alternative disposal methods.
- Quarter Van Load: Ideal if you are clearing a spare bedroom, including the bed, a wardrobe and some boxes.
- Half Van Load: Similarly, this option offers capacity equivalent to a small builders’ skip (approx. 6 cubic yards) and is also great for a full bedroom refit or clearing a garage.
- Full Van Load: Finally, with large capacity, this is perfect for full property clearances or multi-room furniture removal.
Get a Firm Price: Send a photo of your items to 07802 860 731 and we will provide an instant estimate.
Typical Jobs in Salford
We work across the city daily, handling the specific access issues that Salford properties present:
Apartment Move in MediaCityUK – Firstly, we removed a super-king memory foam mattress from a 10th-floor apartment. We utilised the service lift and our “Wait & Load” service to navigate underground car park height barriers.
Terrace Clearance in Weaste – Meanwhile, a customer needed an old double bed as well as the frame removed from a tight upstairs box room. Our team dismantled the frame and carefully manoeuvred the mattress down narrow stairs without marking the walls.
Renovation in Duchy – Finally, we collected three old mattresses and also a divan base from a property refurbishment. We arrived within 24 hours to ensure the builders could continue work without obstruction.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to get the mattress to the ground floor?
No. Our service includes full labour. Our professional team will collect your mattress from any room, whether it’s an upstairs bedroom, a basement or a high-rise apartment. We handle the stairs so you don’t have to.
Do you take large or awkward items like Emperor mattresses?
Yes. We have the vehicles and manpower to handle large, heavy or awkward items. We carry tools to dismantle bed frames if they are too large to fit through doorways in one piece.
Is your waste disposal legal?
Absolutely. We are an Environment Agency Registered carrier (License CBDU409710). We provide a Waste Transfer Note (WTN) for every job, giving you proof that your waste is handled legally and also ethically.
I live on a narrow street in Salford, can you still help?
Yes. We understand that parking in areas like Salford Quays or the terraced streets of Eccles can be difficult. Our vans are more mobile than skip lorries and can pull up safely for a quick “Wait & Load” service without blocking the road.
Does Salford City Council collect from inside my house?
No, they only do curbside collection. Luckily, we can collect directly from any room in your home.
Can I take my mattress to Lumns Lane Tip?
You can but be aware that the Lumns Lane HWRC site often suffers from heavy congestion and also gridlock on the access roads. Additionally, if you borrow a van to move the mattress, you may be turned away or require a specific permit. Our service saves you both the queue and the heavy lifting.
