Great service from initial contact to the job being finished. I was contacted before they arrived to say they were on their way and the two lads that turned up were a credit to the company. They swept up before they left and I didn’t have to lift a finger. Thanks, I’ll definitely use them again if I need anything removing

Excellent. They let us know what time they will be here, turned up on time. Carried a washing machine down steep stairs through a narrow gap. Then took 2 items away, up the same steps. Friendly efficient. Highly recommend

Appliance Removal in Rossendale – We Do The Heavy Lifting
Appliance Removal in Rossendale, is simple with our professional two-man teams. Whether you need to remove a heavy washing machine or an American fridge freezer, we understand how difficult it can be to manoeuvre bulky appliances from a stone-built terrace. That’s why we collect unwanted appliances from any room in your home and complete all the heavy lifting safely.
As an Environment Agency Registered waste carrier (Licence CBDU409710), we guarantee your appliances are disposed of legally, with most of it diverted from landfill. Equally important, The Rubbish Removers Ltd is a family-run business and a proud Which? Trusted Trader and Trading Standards Approved “Buy With Confidence” member. Why Choose Us for Appliance Removal in Rossendale?
- We Collect From Inside: Unlike the local council which insists on curbside collection, we are happy to come inside and do the lifting. We will also take your appliances directly from the kitchen, utility room, or basement.
- Protection & Care: Navigating the tight doors and narrow hallways of Rossendale’s traditional cottages and terraces requires skill. Floors, walls and doorways are looked after carefully while we manoeuvre heavy white goods out of your property.
- Speed: Got a new fridge arriving today? We offer emergency same-day service subject to availability, or you can pick a morning or afternoon arrival slot. The crew will give you a quick call when they are on the way.
- All Styles Taken: From massive American fridge freezers to heavy washing machines and chest freezers, we have the tools and the uniformed teams to manage it safely.

Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
Our transparent pricing means you only pay for the volume your items take up in our vans, unlike skip hire where you pay for fresh air.
- Single Item: Prices start from £80+vat. Ideal for a standalone bulky item like a fridge, washing machine, or cooker. Cheaper and faster than waiting weeks for a council bulky waste collection.
- Quarter Van Load: Perfect if you are replacing a few appliances at once, equivalent to 20 to 30 bin bags.
- Half Van Load: Roughly 6 cubic yards. Great for a full kitchen strip-out involving multiple appliances and units. No permit fees, and no skip sitting on your street.
- Full Van Load: 12 to 14 cubic yards with an 800kg payload. A large capacity equivalent to roughly two standard 8-yard skips, perfect for commercial kitchen clear-outs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to get the item to the ground floor? A: Absolutely not. Our experienced 2-man team collects your appliances from upstairs flats, cellars, or tight kitchens, doing all the heavy lifting safely for you.
Q: Do you take large or awkward items like American Fridges? A: Yes, we do. We have the correct vehicles, tools, and manual handling training to move large, awkward items like double-door fridges and heavy cookers without damaging your home.
Q: Is your disposal legal? A: Yes. We are an Environment Agency Registered waste carrier (Licence CBDU409710). Your appliances are taken to a licensed transfer station for 100% legal recycling, and you receive a Waste Transfer Note every time.
Q: Does Rossendale Council collect from inside my house? A: No, the council operates a strict curbside only policy. This is incredibly difficult for residents living in Rossendale’s steep stone terraces, as moving heavy appliances outside is a massive physical strain. We come inside and do it all for you.
Q: I live on a narrow street in Rossendale, can you still help? A: Yes. We know that parking on the steep, narrow streets of the valley can be tight. Our local crews who know the area use mobile vans that are much easier to park than skip wagons, and we load your appliances quickly to avoid blocking the road.
Q: Can I take my own fridge to the local tip? A: You can try taking it to the local Recycling Centre (HWRC), but you must be able to lift it safely into your vehicle and out again at the tip. Furthermore, if you borrow a van to move it, you will likely face strict van permit restrictions.
