I've used The Rubbish Removers twice now. Both times they have turned up when they said they would, and have been quick and polite. They removed an old glass greenhouse without leaving any glass fragments or breaking any of the panes.

Why Choose Us for Bulky Waste Collection in Poynton?
Protection & Care
We take extra care when moving bulky furniture and appliances, using protective coverings where needed to safeguard your flooring, walls and doorways throughout the collection process.
We Collect From Inside
Unlike the council’s strict kerbside rules, our team comes directly into your lounge, kitchen or upstairs bedrooms to remove bulky items for you. You avoid the strain of heavy lifting.
Fast Same-Day Service
We offer same-day collection options when you call early. This is ideal if your new sofa, fridge or furniture delivery is arriving and you need space cleared quickly.
A Smarter Alternative to Skip Hire
Skips are often unsuitable for Poynton’s high-value driveways, while navigating the central Shared Space can be difficult for large skip lorries. Our modern collection vans provide a faster and more convenient solution with no permits required.

What We Take
– Household Furniture: Sofas, sectionals, recliners, armchairs, wardrobes as well as heavy dining tables.
– Beds & Mattresses: King size mattresses, memory foam, bed frames and also the headboards.
– White Goods: American style fridges, chest freezers, washing machines as well as under-counter units.
Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
- Single Item Collection: Prices start from £80 + VAT, making it ideal for removing a single bulky item such as a fridge, sofa , mattress or wardrobe. In many cases, it is both cheaper and faster than council waste collections.
- Quarter Van Load: Equivalent to around 20–30 bin bags or 2–3 cubic yards. It is perfect for clearing a box room or disposing of a small amount of broken furniture.
- Half Van Load: Offering approximately 6 cubic yards of space, this option is comparable to a standard builders’ skip. It is ideal for large bedroom clear-outs without the added hassle of permit fees.
- Full Van Load: With a capacity of 12–14 cubic yards and an 800kg payload, this load size is roughly equal to two standard 8-yard skips. So, it’s perfect for full house clearances and larger domestic clean-outs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is your disposal legal?
Yes. We are fully licensed with the Environment Agency (CBDU409710) and provide a Waste Transfer Note every time. All waste is processed at registered recycling facilities.
Do you take large or awkward items like American fridges or corner sofas?
Yes. We have the right vehicles and equipment to handle large or awkward items. Our experienced crews plan ahead for tight corners to ensure safe and careful removal.
Do I need to get the item to the ground floor?
No. Our two-man team collects from upstairs bedrooms, basements or apartments, so you never have to struggle with stairs or heavy lifting.
Does Cheshire East Council collect from inside my house?
No. The council operates a strict curbside-only service, meaning you must move heavy items outside yourself, which can be difficult and risks damage to your property.
I live right near the Shared Space in Poynton, can you still help?
Yes. We regularly work in the Shared Space area and understand the access challenges. We use a fast Wait & Load approach with agile vans to keep everything moving smoothly and safely.
