Why Choose Us for Mattress Removal in Pontefract?
Manoeuvring a heavy, awkward mattress through tight spaces can be a real headache. Our dedicated team is here to take the strain out of the process with a friendly, efficient service.
We provide a seamless experience that offers several major advantages over other disposal options:
We Collect From Inside:
Unlike standard council services that require you to drag heavy items outside, we collect directly from any upstairs bedroom, cellar or loft.
Protection and Care:
We navigate tight stairwells and narrow door frames with absolute care, ensuring your walls and door frames are never damaged.
Exceptional Speed:
We offer rapid same-day and next-day options, which is ideal if your new bed is arriving today and you need the space cleared.
Complete Versatility:
We take all sizes and styles of mattresses, including heavy memory foam units, super king-size pocket-sprung models, divan bases, headboards and full wooden or metal bed frames.
The Rubbish Removers vs. Wakefield Council Bulk Collection
When you need to clear a bulky item, comparing your choices helps you find the most efficient route. While Wakefield Council provides a bulky collection service, there are critical differences in convenience and service levels.
Here is how our service compares to a standard council collection:
| Feature | The Rubbish Removers | Wakefield Council Bulk Collection |
|---|---|---|
| Collection Point | Any Room / Upstairs | Kerbside Only (You must drag it out) |
| Speed & Timing | Same-Day / Within 24 Hours | Booking Required / Subject to Availability |
| Heavy Lifting | Professional 2-Man Team Included | Zero Assistance (You do the lifting) |
| Item Limits | Unlimited (We clear any volume) | Strict Item Limits |
Choosing our professional service means you do not have to worry about dragging a heavy mattress down the driveway or waiting weeks for a collection slot. Our team provides an excellent Skip Hire Alternative and a comprehensive Man and Van Clearance service that supports fly-tipping prevention in your community. Every collection we make is legally documented, ensuring you fully meet your Duty of Care requirements.
What We Take
We clear a wide variety of domestic and commercial items, ensuring they are disposed of responsibly. Whether you are replacing a single bed or managing a full house clearance, we can take:
Mattresses: Single, double, king size, super king, memory foam, pocket sprung, latex and traditional sprung mattresses.
Bed Bases: Divan bases, wooden slats, metal bed frames, bunk beds and folding guest beds.
Bedroom Furniture: Headboards, wardrobes, bedside tables, chest of drawers and old carpets.
Bedding Accessories: Pillows, duvets, blankets and mattress protectors.
Children’s Bedding: Cot mattresses, cot beds, toddler mattresses and children’s bed mattresses.
Please note that we do not collect prohibited items such as asbestos, gas bottles, or petrol due to strict environmental safety laws.
Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
We believe in honest, upfront pricing with no hidden charges. You only pay for the exact space your items occupy in our custom-built vehicles, which is far more cost-effective than booking a skip.
Our guide rates and standard load sizes include:
| Single Item: | Prices start from £80 plus VAT. This is ideal for a standalone bulky item like a double mattress, fridge, or sofa. |
| Quarter Van Load: | Equivalent to 2 to 3 cubic yards or 20 to 30 bin bags. Perfect for clearing a single bed, mattress, and headboard. |
| Half Van Load: | Equivalent to 6 cubic yards or 50 to 60 bin bags. This provides the same capacity as a standard builders’ skip, but without any permit costs. |
| Full Van Load: | Equivalent to 12 to 14 cubic yards or 100+ bin bags, with an 800kg payload. This massive capacity is equal to two standard 8-yard skips. |
For an instant, no-obligation estimate, send a photo of your mattress to our team on WhatsApp at 07802 860 731.

Commercial Mattress Disposal near Junction 32: We cleared a bulk load of mattresses from a local guesthouse, ensuring fully compliant trade waste disposal and providing a digital Waste Transfer Note on-site.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to get the mattress down to the ground floor?
No. You do not need to struggle down tight stairwells or lift heavy items. Our two-man crews collect mattresses from any room, whether that is an upstairs master bedroom or a loft conversion.
Do you take large or awkward mattress items?
Yes. We have the vehicles and staff to handle all sizes of bedding, including super king-size pocket-sprung mattresses, heavy divans and solid oak bed frames.
Is your mattress disposal legal and documented?
Absolutely. We are an Environment Agency registered waste carrier holding licence CBDU409710. Every job includes a digital Waste Transfer Note to prove your compliance with environmental laws.
I live on a narrow street in Pontefract, can you still collect?
Yes. We understand that parking can be extremely tight in Pontefract’s terraced mining rows or near the market area. Unlike traditional skip hire, which can block the road and cause neighbour disputes, our mobile vans can pull up, load and leave immediately.
Can I take my own mattress to the local tip in Pontefract?
You can but it is a major hassle. The Welbeck Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) is located on a former colliery site and is massive, which can be very confusing for first-time visitors to navigate. Furthermore, if you borrow a van to transport your mattress, you will need to apply for a council permit and face strict ANPR checks.
Save your back and protect your walls!
