Excellent service from Rubbish Removals. Arrived on time and considering they had a fair length down a long path to reach their truck, they removed quite a lot of kitchen appliances and a piece of furniture in next to no time. Would definitely recommend. Good price too, cheaper than local Council.

Appliance Removal in Oldham – We Do The Heavy Lifting
Appliance removal in Oldham is our speciality, and we take the heavy lifting off your hands so you don’t have to struggle with awkward stairs when moving a washing machine or old fridge up the steep, red-brick terraced hills of the town. Instead, our two-man teams collect from any room in your house, acting as your fully insured and Environment Agency Registered waste carrier (Licence CBDU409710).
The Rubbish Removers Ltd is a family-run business with over 25 years of experience serving Greater Manchester. We are also proud to be a Which? Trusted Trader and a Trading Standards Approved Buy With Confidence member. You can hand the job over knowing it is being dealt with legally and correctly by our own uniformed teams.
Call our North West office today on 0161 339 7938 to organise your fast, reliable bulky waste collection.
Why Choose Us for Appliance Removal in Oldham?
- We Collect From Inside: Unlike Oldham Council, which only provides kerbside collections, we come directly into your lounge, kitchen or cellar to do all the heavy lifting for you. This is especially helpful if your property sits on a steep hill or has steps.
- Protection & Care: Additionally, we take great care when moving bulky white goods, using protection to safeguard your flooring, walls and also doorways. Our local crews know exactly how to navigate the tight access points of traditional weavers’ cottages and modern mill conversions.
- Same-Day Service: Moreover, when your new fridge or washing machine is arriving today, we offer a rapid same-day response so your old appliance is removed quickly and efficiently.
- Proper WEEE Recycling: Finally, we take your broken electricals and fridges straight to authorised treatment facilities. All hazardous parts are processed correctly, helping us maintain our excellent landfill diversion rate.

Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
Single Item
Starting from £80 + VAT, this option is ideal for a standalone bulky item like an American fridge or a heavy washing machine. It is faster and far easier than waiting weeks for a council collection.
Quarter Van Load
Next, this load holds roughly 20–30 bin bags or 2–3 cubic yards. For example, it is perfect for clearing out a kitchen rip-out, including the old oven, dishwasher and leftover packaging.
Half Van Load
This option provides roughly 6 cubic yards of space. This gives a comparable capacity to a standard builders’ skip, but without the need for expensive permits on tight Oldham streets.
Full Van Load
Finally, our largest option offers 12–14 cubic yards or an 800kg payload. It is suitable for complete property clearances or multiple heavy appliances from a mill conversion.
You only pay for the exact volume you use, unlike a skip where you pay for fresh air.

Typical Jobs in Oldham
Appliance Removal in Saddleworth:
Recently, we cleared a heavy American-style fridge from a stone-built cottage. Using our swift wait-and-load service, we avoided blocking the narrow, winding country lanes where skip lorries cannot safely reach.
Cellar Clearance in Oldham Town Centre:
Similarly, our team removed an old washing machine and tumble dryer from a steep terraced property. We safely navigated the basement stairs and carried the items straight to our van.
How It Works
1. Get a Quote: First, give us a call, fill in our contact form or you can also WhatsApp a photo of the item to 07802 860 731.
2. We Arrive: Next, our two-man team arrives within your chosen time window. Additionally, we call you 30 minutes beforehand so you are never left waiting.
3. We Remove: Then, we disconnect your old washing machine or fridge and carefully carry it out. We sweep up any dust or debris left behind in your kitchen or utility room.
4. Recycling: Finally, you instantly receive a digital Waste Transfer Note for your records. Your old appliances are sent directly for professional WEEE recycling, ensuring safe and legal disposal.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to get the item to the ground floor?
No, you do not need to lift a finger. Our professional two-man team collects heavy appliances directly from upstairs rooms, basements or top-floor apartments, so all the lifting is done safely for you.
Do you take large and awkward items like American fridges?
Yes, we certainly do. We have the right vehicles and manual handling training to carefully remove oversized domestic and commercial appliances without causing damage.
Is your disposal legal?
Absolutely. As an Upper Tier Waste Carrier with Licence CBDU409710, we process all electrical goods at licensed transfer stations. You receive a Waste Transfer Note to confirm your Duty of Care is fully fulfilled.
Does Oldham Council collect from inside my house?
No, Oldham Council strictly operates a kerbside-only bulky collection service. Moving items yourself can be physically demanding, especially in steep red-brick terraced properties. Fortunately, we come inside and do all the lifting for you.
I live on a narrow street in Saddleworth, can you still help?
Yes, we handle difficult access daily. We understand that parking in Saddleworth and Uppermill can be extremely tight. Fortunately, our vans are highly mobile and do not require expensive skip permits.
