Bulky Waste Collection in Mossley
We Do The Heavy Lifting
Our reliable teams do all the heavy lifting when it comes to bulky waste collections in Mossley. Known as the “Little Switzerland” of the North, Mossley’s steep hills and tall weavers’ cottages can make moving heavy furniture physically exhausting. Instead of struggling with stairs or navigating narrow single-track lanes in a hired van, let our experienced team handle everything for you. We collect bulky items directly from any room in your property while protecting your walls and floors throughout the removal process.
As an Environment Agency Registered waste carrier (licence number CBDU409710), we guarantee fully legal and ethical disposal. Our family-run business is proud to be a Which? Trusted Trader and a Trading Standards Approved Buy With Confidence member. We also provide a full Duty of Care Waste Transfer Note for every collection, giving you complete peace of mind. So, for a fast and professional response, call our North West office on 0161 339 7938 today.

All Styles Taken: Whether you need to dispose of a heavy corner sofa, an American fridge freezer, a solid wood wardrobe or a bed frame, our experienced team can handle it safely and professionally.

Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
SINGLE ITEM
Prices start from £80 + VAT. This option is ideal for removing one bulky item, such as a fridge, heavy sofa or solid wood wardrobe.
QUARTER VAN LOAD
Equivalent to roughly 20 to 30 bin bags, this is perfect for clearing a box room or removing a small collection of unwanted furniture.
HALF VAN LOAD
At approximately 6 cubic yards, this is a brilliant alternative to skip hire. You avoid expensive permit fees while clearing out a large master bedroom or multiple bulky items.
FULL VAN LOAD
With space for around 12 to 14 cubic yards of waste, this option is ideal for full house clearances or major property turnovers. Our collection service avoids blocking Mossley’s narrow lanes with a large skip.

Typical Jobs in Mossley
Cottage Clearance on Top Mossley:
Recently, we cleared heavy wooden furniture directly from a steep stone terrace using our wait and load service. The customer avoided placing a skip on a dangerous 1-in-5 gradient.
Basement Clear-Out in Bottom Mossley:
We carefully navigated narrow cellar stairs to remove heavy white goods and old carpets. Afterwards, we swept the basement completely clean, leaving the space tidy and ready to use again.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to get the item to the ground floor?
– Absolutely not. Our experienced two-man team collects heavy items directly from upstairs bedrooms, cellars and attics. You do not need to do any heavy lifting yourself.
Do you take large and awkward items?
– Yes, we do. We have the correct vehicles and specialist tools to remove oversized items safely, including corner sofas, heavy American fridge freezers and large dining tables.
Is your disposal legal?
– Yes. We are a fully licensed Environment Agency Registered waste carrier (CBDU409710). All materials are processed at an authorised recycling centre and we issue digital paperwork on the same day for complete peace of mind.
Does Tameside Council collect from inside my house?
– No, Tameside Council only offers curbside collections. This can be especially difficult for Mossley residents living in tall weavers’ cottages with steep steps and no front gardens.
I live on a narrow street in Mossley, can you still help?
– Yes, absolutely. We understand that parking in Mossley can be tight and many lanes are single-track. However, our collection vans are far more mobile than large 18-tonne skip lorries, allowing us to load quickly without causing major disruption.
Can I take my own sofa to Ash Road tip?
– You can, but it may not be convenient. The Ash Road tip in Droylsden is a long and often traffic-heavy drive from Mossley. Strict limits apply and you may need a permit if you hire a van to transport the waste yourself.
