Bulky Waste Collection in Macclesfield – We Do The Heavy Lifting
Bulky Waste Collection in Macclesfield is the perfect service when you need to clear large, awkward items from your home. For example, we know that moving heavy furniture through narrow Silk Town cottages or down steep stairs can be incredibly difficult, so our professional two-man teams will collect from any room in your house. We are a family run, Environment Agency Registered waste carrier (Licence CBDU409710) with over 25 years of experience.
Finding a reliable company to remove unwanted sofas, mattresses, or white goods is simple with our Which? Trusted Trader and Trading Standards Approved service. We provide a completely legal, hassle-free alternative to dragging heavy items out to the pavement for a council collection. Finally, call our head office on 0161 339 7938 or WhatsApp a photo of your rubbish to 07802 860 731 for a fast, free quote.
Why Choose Us for Bulky Waste Collection in Macclesfield?
We Collect From Inside: Unlike the strict curbside rules of Cheshire East Council, we come right into any room to retrieve your items. You don’t need to move anything outside yourself.
Speed: Same-day service is available when you call early. For example, this is ideal if your new high-end furniture from Arighi Bianchi is arriving today and you need the old items gone quickly.
Protection & Care: Our teams carefully protect your flooring, walls, and doorways, using protection where needed. We navigate narrow historic streets without risking damage to heritage paving.
We Do The Sweeping: Our uniformed staff handle everything from old bed frames to massive American fridges. Finally, once everything is out, we sweep the area clean and leave the space ready to use.
The Rubbish Removers vs. Cheshire East Council Bulk Collection
| Feature | The Rubbish Removers | Cheshire East Council |
|---|---|---|
| Collection Point | Any Room / Upstairs | Curbside Only (You drag it out) |
| Speed | Same Day / 24 Hours | Subject to Availability |
| Heavy Lifting | 2-Man Team Included | Zero Assistance |
| Item Limits | We take Multiple Items | Strict Item Limits |
What We Take (Bulky Waste Collection)
- Sofas & Seating: Sectionals, recliners, Chesterfield sofas, and heavy sofa beds.
- Bedroom Furniture: Memory foam mattresses, king-size mattresses, bed frames, and large wardrobes.
- White Goods: American-style fridges, chest freezers, and under-counter washing machines.
- General Bulky Items: Old dining tables, rolled carpets, display cabinets, and heavy armchairs.
Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
Single Item:
Prices start from £80+vat. Therefore ideal for a standalone bulky item like a fridge, heavy sofa, or wardrobe. Also often cheaper and faster than waiting for a council collection.
Quarter Van Load:
Roughly 20 to 30 bin bags or 2 to 3 cubic yards. So great for clearing out a box room or removing a large three-piece suite.
Half Van Load:
Roughly 6 cubic yards. Comparable capacity to a standard builders skip but with no permit fees or blocked driveways. Therefore perfect for a large master bedroom clear-out.
Full Van Load:
12 to 14 cubic yards with an 800kg payload. Also suitable for full house clearances or massive furniture upgrades.
Furthermore you only ever pay for the volume you fill, unlike a skip where you pay for fresh air.
Get a Firm Price: Send a photo of your pile to 07802 860 731.
Typical Jobs in Macclesfield
- Bulky Furniture Disposal near the Town Centre: We cleared heavy furniture directly from a lounge using our Wait & Load service to avoid placing a skip on the narrow, cobbled heritage streets. Disruption was kept to a minimum.
- Bedroom Clearance in Weston: Our team removed bulky mattresses and dismantled wardrobes from an upstairs bedroom, carefully navigating the stairs to prevent any wall damage in the 1960s estate. Everything was handled with care from start to finish.
- Appliance Removal on the Silk Road: We safely disconnected and removed a large fridge freezer from a modern kitchen, doing all the heavy lifting and ensuring complete WEEE recycling. Finally, this guaranteed a safe and fully compliant disposal process.
How It Works
- Get a Quote: Give us a call, fill in our contact form, or WhatsApp a photo of the item to 07802 860 731.
- We Arrive: Our two-man team arrives within a specific agreed window and also gives you a call when on the way.
- We Remove: We disconnect appliances, dismantle items if needed, and carefully carry them out through your property.
- Recycling: 100% of fridges are de-gassed and most of the bulky furniture is diverted from landfill at an authorised Recycling Centre (HWRC).

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to get the item to the ground floor? A: Absolutely not. Our professional two-man team collects from upstairs bedrooms, basements, or apartments, doing all the heavy lifting safely.
Q: Do you take large or awkward items like American fridges and corner sofas? A: Yes we do. We have the right vehicles, tools, and experience to handle the largest and most awkward household items easily.
Q: Is your disposal legal? A: Yes, we provide a completely legal service with an exceptional landfill diversion rate. You receive a proper Waste Transfer Note upon completion to prove your Duty of Care has been met.
Q: Does Cheshire East Council collect from inside my house? A: No they do not. Cheshire East Council is strict on curbside-only collections. This is incredibly difficult for residents living in steep Silk Cottages or properties with challenging access.
Q: Can I take my own sofa or fridge to Danes Moss Tip? A: You can, but Danes Moss HWRC is small and often struggles with the volume of a growing town. If you hire a van, you will also face strict trade waste checks, making our service much faster and easier.
