We Do The Heavy Lifting
When you need a junk collection service in Longsight our trusted teams do all of the heavy lifting, so you do not have to. As an Environment Agency Registered waste carrier (licence number CBDU409710), we provide a fully compliant, fast, and friendly service for homes and businesses along the A6 and surrounding streets. We are also proud to be a Which? Trusted Trader and Trading Standards Approved “Buy With Confidence” member, guaranteeing a professional and legal disposal.
Our uniformed teams handle all the heavy lifting, saving you the hassle of navigating the notorious traffic down to the Sandfold Lane tip. Call our North West head office on 0161 339 7938 or WhatsApp a photo of your waste to 07802 860 731 for an instant quote today!
Why Choose Us for Man and Van Junk Collection in Longsight?
- We Collect From Inside:
Manchester Council only offers a curbside service, which is difficult if you live in a dense terraced street with no front garden. Instead, we are happy to come inside, navigate tight doors and do all the lifting directly from your lounge, kitchen or upstairs bedroom. - Protection & Care:
Floors, walls and narrow doorways are carefully protected. We also plan our routes through your home beforehand and use protective measures to prevent scratches when manoeuvring awkward, bulky items.
- Emergency Same-Day Service:
Furthermore, if your new sofa or fridge is arriving today, we offer rapid same-day collections subject to availability. You can choose a morning or afternoon slot, and the crew will give you a quick call when they are on the way. - We Tidy Up:
Once everything is loaded into our van, we then sweep through the rooms and leave your spaces clean and ready to use.

What We Take
- Household Furniture: Sectional sofas, recliners, armchairs and also any dining sets.
- Bedroom Items: Mattresses, heavy wooden bed frames and wardrobes.
- White Goods: American fridge freezers, washing machines and also cookers.
- General Junk: Black bag waste, old carpets as well as any boxed clutter.
Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
– SINGLE ITEM –
Firstly, prices start from £80+vat. This is ideal for a standalone bulky item like a fridge, sofa or heavy wardrobe. It is often cheaper and faster than Manchester Council’s bulky collection.
– QUARTER VAN LOAD –
Next, roughly 20 to 30 bin bags or 2 to 3 cubic yards. Perfect for clearing out a box room or, alternatively, an under-stairs cupboard.
– HALF VAN LOAD –
Roughly 6 cubic yards or 50 to 60 bin bags. This is comparable to a standard builders’ skip and therefore, a fantastic Skip Hire Alternative with no expensive on-street parking permits required.
– FULL VAN LOAD –
Finally, 12 to 14 cubic yards or over 100 bin bags. This is suitable for full house clearances for multi-generational families or large amounts of heavy builders waste.
Get a Firm Price: Send a photo of your pile to 07802 860 731 and we will agree on the final cost before loading begins.
Typical Jobs in Longsight
- Full-House Clearance near Stockport Road:
We cleared heavy furniture as well as some boxed clutter for a multi-generational family via a Wait & Load service to avoid the strict daytime parking restrictions on the A6.
- Heavy Renovation Debris in Victorian Terraces:
We removed old plaster, carpets and also some wood from a property modernisation. Our Man and Van Clearance team hand-loaded the waste from the front door because, alternatively, the rear alleys were too narrow for a skip.
- Retail Waste near Longsight Market:
We cleared shop fitting debris and cardboard bales from a local business. We also planned the loading carefully to avoid the busy market day traffic bottlenecks.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need to get the item to the ground floor?
No. Firstly, our 2-man team collects from upstairs bedrooms, basements or upper-floor flats, doing all the heavy lifting safely for you.
- Do you take large or awkward items like American Fridges and Corner Sofas?
Yes. We have the right vehicles and tools to handle oversized items. We carefully navigate tight corners and also protect your walls during the removal.
- Is your disposal legal?
Yes. We are an Environment Agency Registered carrier (CBDU409710) and take our Duty of Care seriously. Everything goes to an authorised facility for proper recycling.
- Does Manchester City Council collect from inside my house?
No. Manchester City Council is extremely strict on curbside-only collections. This makes life very difficult for residents in Longsight living in terraced properties with narrow back entries and no front gardens.
- I live on a narrow street in Longsight, can you still help?
Yes. We know that parking in the Victorian terrace grids is very tight. Our mobile vans provide a quick Wait and Load service, meaning we do not block the street or require expensive skip permits.
- Can I take my own sofa or fridge to the local tip?
You can try. However, using the Sandfold Lane tip in Levenshulme is often challenging due to heavy trade traffic and congestion. In addition, if you hire a van, strict ANPR enforcement means you risk being turned away without pre-registration.
Save your back and your walls!
