Why Choose Us for Bulky waste collection in Lancaster?
We Collect From Inside: Unlike the local council pavement only collection, we come directly into your lounge, kitchen or student bedroom. Our two-man teams are happy to come inside and do all the heavy lifting for you.
Protection & Care: We take great care when moving bulky items through narrow stone terraces. We use protection where needed to look after flooring, walls, doorways and also lifts, ensuring your property remains pristine.
Speed: Same day options are available if you call early. This is perfect for when your new sofa or fridge is arriving today and you need the old space cleared immediately.
Skip Hire Alternative: Skips are virtually impossible to place on many of Lancaster’s restricted cobbled streets. However, our mobile service requires no permits and we manage all the loading so you do not have to lift a finger.

Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
Single Item
Prices start from £80+VAT. Ideal for a standalone bulky item like a fridge, sofa or heavy wardrobe. Cheaper and faster than waiting for council collections.
Quarter Van Load
Roughly 20-30 bin bags or 2-3 cubic yards. Great for clearing out a box room or an under-stairs cupboard.
Half Van Load
Roughly 6 cubic yards or 50-60 bin bags. In other words, this is comparable capacity to a standard builders skip. Ideal for a large master bedroom clear-out or removing a full lounge suite.
Full Van Load
12-14 cubic yards, holding up to 800kg. A large capacity equivalent to roughly two standard 8-yard skips. This is suitable for full house clearances or moving out of large student accommodation.
You only pay for the space you fill, unlike skips where you pay for fresh air.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to get the item to the ground floor?
A: No, you do not need to move a thing. Our professional team collects from upstairs bedrooms, basements or student apartments, doing all the heavy lifting safely and carefully.
Q: Do you take large awkward items like American Fridges or Corner Sofas?
A: Yes, we handle large and awkward furniture daily. We also have the right vehicles and manual handling experience to manoeuvre large items safely out of your home.
Q: Is your disposal legal?
A: Yes, we are fully licensed with the Environment Agency (CBDU409710) and manage your Duty of Care strictly. We process everything through licensed transfer stations to ensure completely legal recycling.
Q: Does Lancaster City Council collect from inside my house?
A: No, the local council operates a strict pavement only policy. This is physically difficult for residents living in stone terraces or townhouses who cannot safely drag heavy furniture onto the pavement.
Q: I live on a narrow street in Lancaster, can you still help?
A: Yes, our vans are much more mobile than heavy skip lorries. We regularly navigate the tight cobbled streets as well as the restricted parking zones of the city centre using quick loading methods.
Q: Can I take my own sofa or fridge to Salt Ayre Recycling Centre (HWRC)?
A: You can, but Salt Ayre requires a strict permit system if you attempt to borrow or hire a van. It also gets incredibly busy with commercial traffic, making our load-and-go service a much faster alternative.
