Prompt response to my original request. The collection took place on time. The two gentlemen who made the collection were efficient, friendly and very professional. Would definitely use your service again.

Brill company, we had a room FULL of mixed items we needed to be rid of, the process was super easy and simple, just a quick phone call, some photos, and bobs your uncle. The two lads they sent over (many apologies but i have forgotten their names) were super nice and hard working, they had too do many trips up and down the stairs, but they powered through and had the job done in under two hours! Would recommend, and thankyou guys :)

Sofa Removal & Disposal in Glossop: We Do The Heavy Lifting
Sofa Removal & Disposal in Glossop is exactly what we deliver for local residents struggling with old and bulky furniture. Many homes here feature traditional terraced streets that open directly onto the pavement, making it impossible to hire a skip for your waste. However, our two-man uniformed teams bypass this problem entirely by collecting your heavy settee straight from your lounge. We navigate tight doors, narrow hallways and steep stairs, so you never have to lift a single item.
As an Environment Agency Registered waste carrier (licence number CBDU409710), we also ensure your old furniture is handled legally and safely with a full duty of care. We are a Trading Standards Approved “Buy With Confidence” member as well as a Which? Trusted Trader, giving you complete peace of mind. Call our North West head office on 0161 339 7938. You can WhatsApp your photos to 07802 860 731 for an instant quote and let our professional team clear your property today.
Why Choose Us for Sofa Removal & Disposal in Glossop?
We Collect From Inside: Unlike the council, which strictly enforces pavement only collections, we come right into your lounge, kitchen or bedroom. You do not need to drag heavy furniture out onto the street.
Protection & Care: Moving bulky items out of Glossop terraces can be tricky. We take exceptional care to protect your floors, walls and doorways while manoeuvring your old furniture, ensuring no scratches or damage.
Speed: We also offer a same-day Glossop bulky waste collection service. This is perfect for when your brand new sofa is arriving today and you need the old one gone immediately.
All Styles Taken: We handle everything from large corner sectionals as well as heavy recliner chairs to traditional Chesterfields and matching footstools.
The Rubbish Removers vs. Glossop Council Bulk Collection
| Feature | The Rubbish Removers | Glossop Council |
|---|---|---|
| Collection Point | Any Room or Upstairs | Pavement Only (You drag it out) |
| Speed | Same Day or 24 Hours | Subject to Availability |
| Heavy Lifting | 2-Man Team Included | Zero Assistance |
| Item Limits | We take Multiple Items | Strict Item Limits |
What We Take
- Large sectional sofas and also corner suites.
- Heavy recliner chairs as well as armchairs.
- Traditional Chesterfield sofas.
- Heavy sofa beds and also futons.
- Matching footstools, cushions and also living room furniture.
Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
- Single Item: Prices start from £80+VAT. This is ideal for a standalone bulky item like a two-seater sofa, a heavy armchair or a fridge.
- Half Van Load: Roughly 6 cubic yards, comparable to a standard 6-yard builders skip. This is ideal for a large living room furniture clear-out.
- Quarter Van Load: Roughly 2 to 3 cubic yards. This capacity is great for clearing out a full three-piece suite from your lounge.
- Full Van Load: 12 to 14 cubic yards. In other words, this is comparable to two builders skips. This large capacity is perfectly suited for full property clearances.
You only pay for the exact volume you fill. Unlike a skip in Glossop where you pay for fresh air, our pricing is fair and transparent.
Get a Price: Send a photo of your pile to 07802 860 731.
Typical Jobs in Glossop

- Lounge clear-out in Simmondley: We collected a full three-piece suite directly from the living room, ensuring a fast turnaround before the winter weather arrived.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to get the item to the ground floor?
A: No. Our professional two-man team collect from Glossops’ upstairs bedrooms, basements or top-floor apartments, doing all the heavy lifting safely for you.
Q: Do you take large or awkward items like corner sofas?
A: Yes. We have the right vehicles as well as the necessary tools to handle large and awkward items. We easily manage bulky sectionals and heavy mechanical recliners.
Q: Is your disposal legal?
A: Yes. We are also a fully licensed carrier with the Environment Agency (CBDU409710). We provide a digital Waste Transfer Note upon completion to prove your items were recycled legally.
Q: Does High Peak Borough Council collect from inside my house?
A: No. The council is very strict on pavement only collection. This is incredibly difficult for residents living in Glossop terrace properties that open directly onto the pavement.
Q: I live on a narrow street in Glossop, can you still help?
A: Yes. We understand that parking and skip placement on Glossop terrace streets is often impossible. Our vans are highly mobile, allowing us to load quickly and stay out of the way.
Q: Can I take my own sofa to Waterswallows tip in Buxton?
A: You can, but it is a long drive and Waterswallows is highly exposed to harsh weather and often closed during snow.
