Why Choose Us for Bulky Waste Collection in Bury?
We Collect From Inside:
Unlike Bury Council’s strict curbside rules, we are happy to come inside and do the lifting. We take items straight from your lounge, cellar, or upstairs bedroom.
Protection & Care:
Floors, walls and lifts are looked after. We carefully navigate the narrow doorways of Bury’s red-brick terraces and the steep steps of Ramsbottom cottages without scratching your décor.
Speed:
Same-day options are available if you call early. This is perfect for when you have a new sofa or fridge arriving and need the old one gone instantly.
All Styles Taken:
From oversized American fridges to heavy corner sofas and broken bed frames, our crews dismantle and remove everything. Overall, we make the entire process simple and stress-free.

What We Take (Bulky Waste Collection)
Sofas: Sectionals, recliners, Chesterfield sofas, and sofa beds.
Beds & Mattresses: Memory foam mattresses, king-size beds, heavy frames, and headboards.
White Goods: American-style fridges, chest freezers, and under-counter washing machines.
Household Furniture: Heavy wardrobes, dining tables, and display cabinets.
Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
- SINGLE ITEM: Prices start from £80+VAT. For example, this is ideal for a standalone bulky item like an American fridge or heavy sofa. In comparison, it’s often cheaper and faster than council bulky collection.
- QUARTER VAN LOAD: Roughly 20–30 bin bags / 2–3 cubic yards. In other words, it’s perfect for clearing out a box room or under-stairs cupboard.
- HALF VAN LOAD: Roughly 6 cubic yards / 50–60 bin bags. Similarly, this offers a capacity comparable to a standard builders’ skip. It’s ideal for a large master bedroom clear-out with zero permit fees.
- FULL VAN LOAD: 12–14 cubic yards / 100+ bin bags / 800kg payload. Finally, this option is suitable for full house clearances, providing maximum capacity and convenience.
Get a Firm Price: Send a photo of your pile to 07802 860 731. Remember, you only pay for the volume you use, unlike a skip where you pay for fresh air.
Typical Jobs in Bury
- Bulky furniture removal in Prestwich Village: We cleared a heavy corner sofa and double bed via our Wait & Load service to avoid the strict permit zones and high traffic of the A56. The job was completed quickly without any disruption.
- Appliance removal in Bury Town Centre: We cleared a broken chest freezer directly from a dense red-brick terrace, handling the tight access so the resident did not have to leave it on the curbside. Completely stress free for the customer.
How It Works

Give us a call, fill in our contact form or WhatsApp a photo of the item to 07802 860 731. Alternatively, choose the method that suits you best for a quick and easy estimate.
We Arrive:
Our 2-man team arrives in a specific window, calling 30 minutes ahead so you are never left waiting. You can plan your day with confidence.
We Remove:
We disconnect appliances and carefully carry your heavy items out of the property, navigating the tight corners of your home safely. We ensure everything is handled with care from start to finish.
Recycling:
You receive a Waste Transfer Note every time. Furthermore, 100% of fridges are de-gassed and most furniture is recycled, diverting waste from landfill. This means a more responsible and environmentally friendly service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to get the item to the ground floor?
A: Absolutely not. Our 2-man team is trained to collect from upstairs bedrooms, basements, or apartments, doing all the heavy lifting safely for you.
Q: Do you take large or awkward items like American Fridges or Corner Sofas?
A: Yes, we certainly do. We have the specialised vehicles and tools required to dismantle and safely handle large, heavy items from any room.
Q: Is your disposal legal?
A: Yes. We are an Upper Tier Waste Carrier (licence CBDU409710) and ensure 100% legal recycling at a licensed transfer station. We provide full paperwork to prove your duty of care is met.
Q: Does Bury Council collect from inside my house?
A: No. Instead, Bury Council is strict on curbside-only collections, meaning you have to drag heavy items outside yourself. This can be incredibly difficult for residents living in dense red-brick terraces or properties with steep steps.
Q: Can I take my own sofa or fridge to the Fernhill or Every Street tip?
A: You can try, but it can be quite a hassle. For example, the Every Street tip is small and cramped, making it hard for large vans to turn. Furthermore, if you borrow a van, you may face strict permit restrictions that could turn you away at the gate.
