One of our favourite London clients needed a clearance outside of our area of operation, so we outsourced the job to The Rubbish Removers. The client was delighted with the team who did the collection, commenting: "The collection on Monday was very smooth and the team there were very pleased with the operatives. The reception team there had no issues and were extremely satisfied with the collection" We would like to say a massive thank you to The Rubbish Removers for the fantastic experience of both ourselves in the booking process and our lovely client during collection.

Why Choose Us for Bulky Waste Collection in Barnsley?
However navigating the logistics of waste removal in Barnsley can be tricky. As a result many of the traditional colliery rows and semi-detached estates have limited driveway space, making skip hire difficult. Because of this we provide a seamless Man and Van Clearance service that solves these problems.
We Collect From Inside: Unlike the council collection which is strictly curbside, we come into your home to collect your items. Therefore you don’t need to struggle with stairs or risk injury.
Speed: Moreover we act as an emergency service for waste. Importantly if your new sofa is arriving tomorrow, we can often clear the old one today.
Protection & Care: Ultimately our two-man teams are trained to manoeuvre tight corners and narrow doorways without scratching your walls or damaging flooring.
• We Sweep Up: Finally we don’t just take the bulky items; we sweep the area afterwards, leaving your home tidy and ready to use immediately.

What We Take (Bulky Waste Collection)
Also we handle a vast range of household and garden items. Then ensuring maximum Landfill Diversion by recycling most of what we collect.
1. Furniture: Sectional sofas, armchairs, dining tables, wardrobes, and chest of drawers.
2. Bedding: Memory foam mattresses, bed frames (dismantled if needed), and headboards.
3. Appliances: American-style fridge freezers, washing machines, dishwashers, and cookers.
4. Garden Bulky Waste: Old lawnmowers, dismantled sheds, and garden furniture.
Typical Load Sizes & Pricing Guide
Importantly our pricing is transparent and based on volume. Therefore you only pay for the space you fill on our vehicle, unlike a skip where you pay for fresh air if you don’t fill it.
• Single Item: Prices start from £80+VAT. Equivalent to 10-15 bags. Ideal for a standalone bulky item like a fridge, sofa, or wardrobe.
• Quarter Van Load: Roughly 20-30 bin bags / 2-3 cubic yards. Perfect for a dismantled shed or a small room clearance.
• Half Van Load: Roughly 6 cubic yards / 50-60 bin bags. Comparable capacity to a standard builders’ skip (6-yarder) but without the permit fees. Ideal for a garage clearance or bedroom clear-out.
• Full Van Load: 12-14 cubic yards / 100+ bin bags. A large capacity equivalent to roughly 2 x standard 8-yard skips. Suitable for full house clearances.
Get a Firm Price: Send a photo of your waste to 07802 860 731 and we will confirm the rate before we arrive.
Typical Jobs in Barnsley
Above all we are active across the borough, helping residents deal with challenging waste issues.
• Sofa Removal in Barnsley Town Centre: A customer living in a terraced property needed a large corner sofa removing. The tight on-street parking made a skip impossible. We used our “Wait & Load” service, parking safely nearby and manually carrying the sofa out from the living room.
• Garden Clearance in Wilthorpe: We removed a large pile of garden waste and old furniture from a semi-detached estate, and afterwards we swept the patio clean, leaving the area tidy. The client was delighted, especially since our service saved them a trip to the tip.
• Renovation Debris in Wombwell: A homeowner renovating a colliery row property had bags of plaster and old carpets; meanwhile, we cleared the entire load in under an hour and then issued a Waste Transfer Note instantly, giving them complete peace of mind.
How It Works
Furthermore we have refined our process to be as simple as possible for Barnsley residents.

2. We Arrive: On the day our uniformed 2-man team arrives in a specific time slot. We will give you a quick call when we are on the way.
3. We Remove: During the clearance we carefully disconnect appliances or dismantle furniture if required and carry it out to our vehicle.
4. Recycling: Afterwards your waste is taken to a licensed transfer station. 100% of fridges are de-gassed safely, and most furniture is recycled.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to get the item to the ground floor?
A: No. Our professional team collects from upstairs, basements, or apartments. Overall doing all the heavy lifting safely, so you don’t have to risk your back.
Q: Do you take large/awkward items (e.g. American Fridges/Corner Sofas)?
A: Yes. Our vans are large Luton-style vehicles designed for volume. Also we carry tools to remove doors or dismantle sofas if necessary to get them out of the property.
Q: Is your disposal legal?
A: Absolutely. We are Environment Agency Registered (Licence CBDU409710). You will receive a digital Waste Transfer Note upon completion, proving your waste has been handled legally at a licensed facility.
Q: Can I take my own sofa/fridge to the local Recycling Centre?
A: You can, but you may face restrictions. Many Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) have strict rules on vehicle types (requiring permits for vans) and limits on the number of items you can bring. We save you the queue and the hassle.
Q: Does Barnsley Council collect from inside my house?
A: Generally, no. The council service is usually strictly curbside. This can be very difficult for residents in terraced properties or for those who cannot physically lift heavy items. We provide the internal collection service they do not.
Finally avoid unnecessary effort and protect your property, contact 0114 438 7272 for immediate removal assistance.
