Established over 20 years ago by our directors with just one man and a van, the company has grown into a trusted name in the industry. We carry out clearances for both domestic and commercial customers, delivering a reliable and professional service every time. We dispose of unwanted items and co-ordinate your clearances efficiently, staying committed to making the process as smooth as possible.
Kane Johnson
Operations Manager
My dad started the business when I was just three years old, so growing up, I spent a lot of time on the vans and around the team. I officially joined The Rubbish Removers in 2016, starting out as a labourer. This hands-on experience helped me build strong relationships with the team. It also gave me a deep understanding of how the business operates. Over the next two years, I progressed into a driver role, where I took on more responsibility. Not just in customer service but also in ensuring waste was properly separated and disposed of in a cost effective way. After the successful expansion of the business, I stepped into the role of Operations Manager in 2019. Since then, I’ve continued helping drive the company forward.
As Operations Manager, my day-to-day role is all about keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. I organise the routes for our teams, manage the daily workload and handle any enquiries or customer queries that come through. A big part of this includes co-ordinating your clearances, making sure each job is scheduled efficiently and everything is in place ahead of time.
I also oversee the general running of our unit, stay in regular contact with waste transfer stations and make sure our disposal processes are efficient and compliant. Alongside this, I deal directly with customers, manage the team and keep on top of our email communications to ensure nothing gets missed. It’s a fast paced role that requires organisation, quick thinking and strong communication. I genuinely enjoy being at the heart of making sure everything comes together and utilising the skills that my parents taught me from a young age.
Richard Walsh
Operations Director
My journey with The Rubbish Removers began over 11 years ago, though my connection to the business started much earlier. As a teenager, I helped out during school holidays alongside my uncle Chris, who founded the company. Even back then, I saw how passionate he was about doing things properly, giving customers a great experience and building a business with integrity. That left a lasting impression on me.
After working in retail for several years, I found myself wanting something more meaningful. When the opportunity came up to join Chris full time, I jumped at it and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made. My background brought a bit of structure to how we delivered customer service and managed day-to-day operations, from co-ordinating your clearances to ensuring everything behind the scenes runs smoothly. Chris established the strong values we built everything on: treating people fairly, doing an honest job, and creating a workplace people want to be part of.
Over the years, we’ve grown into one of the region’s most trusted waste removal providers. There have been challenges, from navigating the pandemic to scaling the business but we’ve always stayed focused on what matters. I’m especially proud of the team we’ve built. In the office, we work with trust, honesty and mutual respect. Out on the road, our van crews are the heart of the business, hardworking, reliable and genuinely proud to wear our logo. Looking ahead, we’re excited to keep growing, keep improving and keep doing things the right way.
Rowan Boot
Operations Manager / Health and Safety Officer
I joined The Rubbish Removers in 2022, bringing with me a background in retail, customer service and software development. With a passion for problem solving and technology, I’ve played a role in modernising the way we work. I used skills from running an online gaming server during lockdown to help overhaul our internal systems. This has led to more streamlined processes and an improved customer journey. The introduction of these tools made day-to-day operations far more efficient, not just for the office, but for our teams out on the road as well.
Alongside systems and software, I’m also responsible for ensuring we stay on top of our health and safety obligations. This is something I take seriously and manage with care and attention to detail. Day to day, I’m part of the core office team, working closely with Kane and Richard to co-ordinate your clearances, allocate jobs and keep everything running smoothly. I’m committed to helping push The Rubbish Removers to the next level. I’m genuinely passionate about supporting the business and the wider team.
Finance & Marketing : Co-ordinating your Clearances
Lauren Willerton
Finance and Marketing Manager
I’ve been with The Rubbish Removers Ltd for several years now and over that time, I’ve seen the company grow from strength to strength. As the Finance and Marketing Manager, I’m responsible for overseeing our financial operations. I also lead all of our marketing efforts, two areas I’m equally passionate about!
On the finance side, I manage the day-to-day running of the accounts department. My role involves co-ordinating your clearances, making sure all invoices are processed correctly and everything is in place financially before the job goes ahead. I regularly check and chase payments to ensure everything stays on track and runs as smoothly as possible.
When it comes to marketing, I lead all of our advertising campaigns and help shape how we present ourselves to customers, both online and offline. Whether it’s planning our next big campaign or pushing out regular content across social media, I’m always looking for new ways to build our brand and reach more people. Promoting the company and showing the great work our teams do every day is something I genuinely enjoy.
Being part of a business that delivers excellent service is incredibly rewarding. We’ve got a fantastic team here and I’m excited to keep pushing things forward as we continue to grow.
Alice Ogden
Finance and Marketing Assistant
I joined The Rubbish Removers Ltd back in February 2025 and I work in the finance and marketing department. My role involves managing the day to day financial tasks such as invoicing, payments and making sure everything in the accounts department functions seamlessly. I also help to promote the company through various marketing channels. If you’ve seen a post on our social media lately, chances are, I’m the one behind it!
I also play a part in co-ordinating your clearances by making sure all invoices are sent out correctly and on time. Payment queries by phone and email are managed by me to ensure everything is in place before each clearance. I also manage the business’ incoming and outgoing payments to keep everything operating efficiently.
Before joining the team, I spent four years working in a nursery and then two years in a secondary school. Although my background is in education and childcare, I’ve really enjoyed transitioning into a new industry. It’s been a great experience working with such a supportive and hardworking team. I look forward to seeing what the future brings!
