JOB DESCRIPTION
Successful candidates will enter domestic and commercial properties to remove furniture and loose waste. They will also drive and load vehicles, then tip off at waste transfer stations. In addition, they will sometimes collect fly-tipping from rural areas and carry out litter picking.
They will speak with customers face to face, write invoices, and collect payments. They must also work well with other team members.
Hours will vary each day due to the nature of the job. However, candidates must arrive at our Dukinfield headquarters between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. to start work. The role includes Monday–Friday work, plus Saturday mornings.
We offer these positions on a self-employed basis, starting at £9.50 per hour. Once candidates show they can drive the vehicle and lead the team, we will review the rate. At that stage, they will also gain access to our bonus scheme.
MUST-HAVE
- Full UK driver’s license for over 12 months
- GCSE grade C in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
- Experience working with the public.
- Be over 23 years of age due to the insurance of the fleet.
- Be physically fit and able to load the vehicle.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Work well within a team.
DESIRABLE
- Worked within the waste industry previously.
- Have driven 3.5-tonne vans.
